Rebecca Blikslager is a self-started rider from a small New Hampshire town.  It all began with Buckshot, her first pony. They grew up together  at her parents’s Wayside Farm on Silver Lake.  They swam in the lake, showed in both english and western 4H and drove around town delivering mail in a buggy.   But her intense pursuit of knowledge was insatiable leading her across America, England, Holland, and Germany. During her 7 years total as a working student in England- Foxden ( eventing and foxhunting),  Vermont -Tamarack Hill Farm (eventing), Huntington Farm ( eventing, dressage and breeding), and Virginia- Wolftrap Farm(eventing and dressage) she learned to teach/ride/train and manage a wide variety of student and horses. While in Virginia,  Becky also completed her RN degree and for 10 years practiced nursing in  Oncology, ER and lastly as the Nurse Manager for a Home IV company.  The couple have 2 children Natalie, a recent graduate with a Business Administration major from The University of Mississippi, and Stephen graduating from UNC Charlotte with  double Psych/English major.

Her  riding journey from preliminary level eventing to Grand Prix dressage led her to many instructors. Denny Emerson, Ann Kitchel, Shelly Frances, Sue Blikslager, Elizabeth Lewis, Dennis Callin, Jules Nyssen, Jan Jacobson, Anne Aloi, Verne Batchelder and Kay Meredith have shaped Becky’s core beliefs. The farm hosts clinics monthly with top FEI trainers- Verne Batchelder (River House Hanoverians) and Jaron Verheij ( Dutch Grand Prix rider/trainer and judge)

This strong knowledge base is constantly subsidized with frequent clinics from all the best. Lucinda Green, Sally Swift, Jane Savoie, George and Monica Theodorescu, Eicke von Veltheim, Walter Zettl, Axel Steiner, Barry Marshall, Jessica Ransehousen, Scott Hassler, Linda Zang, Tammy Batts, Bo Jena, Jim Koford, Steffen Peters, Cesar Parra, Lars Peterson and  World Champion Edward Gal.

A true horse expert with over forty years of experience owning and training horses - Becky achieved her USDF bronze and silver medals, and is a USDF "L"  grad with distinction.  Over the years she  mastered the invaluable technique of long lining with Kay Meredith. Most recently Becky became a certified Pilates instructor to expand her understanding of anatomy and unitizing core basics to enhance effectiveness.

Ten Students from Windcroft Farm have earned their USDF Bronze medals, 2 with  Silver Medals  and Becky herself  is is 2 scores from her Gold. Most of the medalist started with Becky at training level. They have won over 65 “Horse of the Year” awards in local and national competitions. More importantly , however, they support each other at home and away. This global thinking makes the farm a place of sanctuary and learning.

Anthony Blikslager grew up on a steady diet of horses on his parent's successive farms in England and Virginia. His interest in horses led him to enter Virginia Tech’s veterinary medicine program. After gradating in 1989, he completed an internship and residency in large animal surgery and received ACVS board certification. He then went on to complete his PhD in gastroenterology in 1996. Dr. Blikslager is recognized internationally as a leader in research as well as a top-notch soft tissue and colic surgeon.
